THE WRONG LIGHT

words by Kasey Anderson, music by Eric Ambel

kamikaze women beating down my door
wolves at the window, dog crying on the floor
take me up to the mountain, let the fire touch my skin
then down to the river, drown in the sin

sky like a funeral, stars gone dim
open your eyes and let the wrong light in

i was born sick and sreaming with a trembling hand
left mama crying in the doorway as soon as i could stand
then i walked with the vampires, lived on blood
fell with the towers and rose with the flood

now there’s ashes in the water and the air’s getting thin
open your eyes and let the wrong light in

i got a head full of powder and a wicked grin
open your eyes and let the wrong light in

go down, go down, down to the river let the wrong light in
go down, go down, wade in the water, let the wrong light in
